Wedding Themes!

POSTED BY Kimberly Korn, 16 October 2007

A great way to customize your wedding is to create a theme that has meaning to both you and your future husband.

For instance, if you met in Paris, why not have a Paris themed wedding with croissants at your cocktail hour and each table named for a different site? Some things to think about:

Where was your first date? If you went to a hookah bar, have a Middle Eastern wedding with cous cous and gold decor

What TV shows, movies, or music do you both like? If you love mob movies, go for a Bonnie and Clyde theme with lots of red, black, and white

Memorable vacations? try a cruise theme with umbrellas in drinks and beach ball displays

Activities you both enjoy? try a football theme with buffalo wing, pigs in a blanket, and small subs for hor dourves

My husband and I both love Alice in Wonderland. We decided this would be the perfect theme for our wedding. We tried to incorporate the theme into all aspects of our wedding.

Flowers-We had playing cards in our centerpiece and had very brightly colored flowers.

Cake-We had a topsy-turvey cake made and decorated it with bright colors and whimsical designs.

Color Scheme-we chose red, purple, lime green, fushia, lemon yellow, and orange to evoke a storybook feel

Ice Sculpture-The White Rabbit

Place Cards-We printed pictures of the various characters and had a caligrapher write their names on the card. Ex. Dinah, Cheshire Cat, Mad Hatter
